Disney & Folk: Collector & Gift FAQ
What's the difference between Disney Showcase, Disney Traditions, and Couture de Force?
Disney Showcase — elegant, display-ready pieces with couture styling, rich color, and fine detail across Disney icons and films. This umbrella includes sub-series like Couture de Force and other Showcase designs.
Disney Traditions by Jim Shore — hand-crafted, hand-painted figurines that blend classic Disney characters with Jim Shore's American folk-art motifs: carved textures, quilt patterns, rustic finishes.
Couture de Force (within Disney Showcase) — a fashion-forward Showcase series that elevates characters with haute-couture elements—faux gemstones, opalescent and satin finishes—and a "runway" vibe meant for statement displays.
Which Disney figure series is right for me or my loved one?
We can't tell you exactly what's right for you, but each collection has a "style" all its own. The three most common:
Showcase: collectors who want clean, elegant display pieces that track closely to on-screen looks.
Traditions (Jim Shore): fans of hand-crafted folk-art texture and story-driven sculpting with that carved, quilted Jim Shore finish.
Romero Britto: Britto's work is defined by vibrant, saturated techno-color palettes designed to evoke feelings of joy.
What's in this collection beyond Disney?
Plenty. Trail of the Painted Ponies blends folklore and equine artistry across figurines and ornaments. The World of Miss Mindy brings her "cartoon folk art" style to princesses, villains, and light-up dioramas. Our Art, Film Cells & Prints aisle covers cinematic wall art and handcrafted Edge Sculpture wildlife centerpieces. And when the season turns, Kurt S. Adler ornaments and stockings fill our holiday corner. Folk art, Americana, and fandom all live in this wing.
How do you ship these pieces — and do they arrive gift-ready?
Fine pieces get fine handling. Stone-resin and polyresin figurines travel in thick bubble wrap and kraft-paper cushioning inside sturdy, crush-tested boxes, and every piece ships in its original collector box or sleeve exactly as the artist and manufacturer intended—we never alter products. Most pieces arrive ready to gift straight from the shipping box; if you need a little extra, add a note to your order and we'll do our best to help.
