Art, Film Cells & Prints: Buyer's FAQ
What items are in Art, Film Cells, and Prints at Keenga Toys?
Everything here is home decor with a toy or fun twist—wall pieces and centerpieces alike. We carry FilmCells from Film Cells Ltd.: framed movie wall decorations that include actual film cells, cut at random from the film's release, alongside a pictorial—your chance to quite literally own a piece of one of your favorite movies. We also carry premium lithographs and framed canvas art from Acme Archives—artist-drawn, limited-edition pieces from Star Wars, Marvel, and other top hits. Both include a certificate of authenticity and run anywhere from $60 to several hundred dollars based on composition and rarity. For the centerpiece side, our handcrafted Edge Sculpture wildlife busts anchor a table or shelf beautifully.
And way down the price-range road, we keep more reasonably priced wall decoration for those who don't want to break the bank but still want something distinctive for a child's bedroom, man cave, she shed, or other "personal space" in the house.
It looks like there's tape on the painting or lithograph in your photos — is that right?
No—it's an optical effect. Each painting or lithograph is stored in a plastic sleeve to protect the composition, kept in a cooled environment 24/7 to preserve the artwork's integrity. The tape is on the plastic: when stored, each piece is maintained between two hardened pieces of cardboard to preserve a flat, straight image. We assure you there is no tape on the actual product.
What is a giclée print?
To be clear, most artists would strongly prefer to make one canvas, sell it for tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars, and move on to the next creation from their soul. However, many of them also like to eat while preserving the integrity of their work. So many now use giclée (pronounced "zhee-clay") to continue selling a work beyond the original: an ultra-high-resolution scanning method that preserves the original coloration, composition, and format of the canvas. Any reproduction is technically a "print," whether it resembles the original or not—the giclée process quite literally ensures your print looks like the real thing. Art buffs can read more about the process here.
Does my order include a Certificate of Authenticity (COA)?
It's in the product description if the COA is included. General rule of thumb: if it's a film cell, lithograph, giclée, or certainly an artist-original canvas, it's got a COA with it. The more economical mass-reproduction items priced under $30 usually do not—but check the listing to be sure.
What does Edition Size mean?
Edition Size indicates the total run of a limited-edition lithograph—the number of copies created before the design plate was destroyed.
