The World of Miss Mindy: Collector FAQ
Is Miss Mindy real, or is that just a brand name?
We assure you, Miss Mindy of "The World of Miss Mindy" is a real person and artist—we've met her multiple times at NY Toy Fair. Her hair and attire are also "Disney stylized," so you get a real sense that the collectible art she produces is an extension of how she wishes to see the world. Her style is usually described as Pop or Deco—though with a wider appreciation of art, you might call it cubism with strong dimensional lines, combining multiple subjects into one canvas. For the collectible market, each figure is finely crafted and distinguishable.
What types of products come from The World of Miss Mindy?
Miss Mindy works in Disney-themed items with a special emphasis on Disney Princesses and Villains—though she apparently has a soft spot for the animals who provide the supporting cast of Disney collections. She produces unique light-up diorama statues with a pictorial from the film embedded in the statue, vinyl figures, and stone resin figurines.
Are Miss Mindy vinyl figures changing size?
Yes! Starting with the next release, we should see the size change from 7-inch to 5-inch—and that's better for us and better for customers. The 7-inch line, properly packaged, weighs more than a pound per item, which forces USPS Priority Mail and can run as much as $15 even domestically. The new line packages under a pound, leaving plenty of shipping savings to pass on to customers.
What's the biggest, most expensive Miss Mindy collectible made?
As of this writing, that's the 18-inch limited edition Mickey Mouse from NY Toy Fair 2019. It's stunning and elegant… if you have a place to put it. Mickey is both large and heavy in this design—really meant for the select customer who'd love an exceptionally large, artist-style Mickey Mouse sculpture in their home or place of business.
