Trail of the Painted Ponies: Collector FAQ
What is Trail of the Painted Ponies?
Trail of the Painted Ponies is an Americana series of highly collectible horse figurines, with a half-dozen or so new "ponies" released each year. Each release features a different theme from head to toe, constructed from polyresin and calcium carbonate. They are produced and manufactured by Enesco.
Is this brand being retired?
Yes. At this time, no further Trail of the Painted Ponies releases are planned—the line is being retired. Existing production runs are the last of the Trail, so if a pony speaks to you, the time to bring it home is while stock lasts. Retired lines like this one often become the most sought-after pieces in a collection.
Who collects Trail of the Painted Ponies?
Anyone who loves horses and folk-art design. The Ponies come in many designs, and collectors often use these statues to express aspects of their own personality: a lover of Native American culture might choose the wilder horses, while someone drawn to mythical equine elegance may be better suited to the river and sprite series. We say Find Your Treasure here at Keenga Toys—and for this series, the "your" is spot on.
What size is a Painted Ponies figure, and how is it shipped?
Each arrives in the manufacturer's external covering—usually a red folio depicting the horse inside the box. Check the product page for size: lengths vary from 4 to 9 inches, with a little over 7 inches as the standard. The figures are polyresin and present more as a statue than a figurine, standing on a baseplate with the edition number stamped underneath. Weight runs roughly 1.3 to 2 pounds each.
